Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, 1934; 3 s. and 2 d.; Patron, Jammu and Kashmir National Conference since 1982; Chairman, (i) State Level Committee, International Year for Women 1975, and (ii) Sheri-Kashmir Memorial Committee; Vice-Chairman, (i) State Social Welfare Board, 1975, and (ii) Gujjar and Bakarwal Advisory Board, 1977; President, (i) All India Women's Conference, State  Branch, 1977, (ii) All India Family Welfare Association, State Branch, 1976 and (iii) Slate Council for Child Welfare; Member, Executive of the Central Social Welfare Board; Member, Sixth Lok Sabha, 1977-79.

Social activities:  Organised Peace Committees in Srinagar in 1946 and State Branch of Indian Red Cross Society in 1948-49 and was its first President; worked for the welfare of children and women; established J & K Markaz-i-Behboodi Knawateen, Miskeen Bagh, Srinagar in November 1975 (socio-economic upliftment of women); Patron, Abhidananda Home for Blind.

Travels abroad:  West Asia, Iraq and Saudi Arabia.
