ANSWER
THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR HEAVY INDUSTRIES & PUBLIC ENTERPRISES
(SHRI BABUL SUPRIYO)

(a) & (b): As per information shared by Society of India Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), sale of four wheelers and two wheelers witnessed growth in the last three years. However, Passenger vehicles sales have been impacted in the last few months owing to many reasons including fluctuating exchange rates, floods in Kerala and high post-GST sales in the corresponding period in the previous year among other factors.

(c): Auto industry is in a liberalized sector and industry has grown well over the years as per market dictates. Government has no direct role in the sale of vehicles.
